2023 Venice Simplon-Orient-Express Cruise Itinerary

Day 1 – Eurostar & Venice Simplon-Orient-Express – Thursday 14th September 2023

Board your morning Eurostar service in London, destination Paris. On arrival, transfer to the carriages of Venice Simplon-Orient-Express for boarding. Settle into your comfortable private cabin before enjoying a sumptuous dinner in one of the magnificent dining cars. Later, let your hair down in the bar car and sip freshly shaken cocktails as our resident pianist plays your requests on the baby grand piano. Then when ready, retire to the comfort of your private cabin.

Day 2 – Venice Simplon-Orient-Express & Arrival in Venice – Friday 15th September 2023

You awake to the magnificent mountains and countryside of France, as breakfast is served to your cabin. Spend the morning relaxing over petit fours, or in the Bar Car striking conversation with fellow guests, before a leisurely three-course lunch is served in one of our opulent restaurant cars. Then while away the afternoon admiring the Venetian Lagoon with aperitifs in hand. All too soon it will be time to disembark as we arrive into Santa Lucia station. A Venice Simplon-Orient-Express water taxi will be waiting outside the station to take you to your hotel, Ca Sagredo, where you will spend the next three days at leisure.

Day 3 – Venice, Italy – Saturday 16th September 2023

Venice at leisure – includes breakfast at your hotel. One of the world`s most enchanting cities, Venice is comprised of more than 100 separate islands and a labyrinthine of canals laced together by a string of 400 intricate bridges.

Day 4 – Venice, Italy, – Sunday 17th September 2023

Venice at leisure – includes breakfast at your hotel. A whimsical stroll through the city leads to a hidden world of ornately decorated piazzas and a legacy of Baroque architecture. Admire the richness of St. Mark`s Basilica and the lavishness of the Palazzo Ducale.

Day 5 – Venice, Italy – Monday 18th September 2023

Morning at leisure – includes breakfast at your hotel. Around midday, a private water taxi will collect you from your hotel to take you to the port to board Crystal Symphony.

Day 6 – Dubrovnik, Croatia – Tuesday 19th September 2023

Dubrovnik is one of the most recognizable cities in Europe. Behind the walls, find sleek Venetian-style buildings and a rich Slavic culture. Home to lavender, olive oil, and gorgeous beaches, Dubrovnik will leave a lasting impression on all your senses.

Day 7 – Corfu, Greece – Wednesday 20th September 2023

Immerse yourself in this immaculately preserved island covered in cypress and olive trees. Corfu is considered one of the Mediterranean’s best kept secrets and its elegant downtown area, serene beaches and warm breezes will keep leave you truly captivated.

Day 8 – Olympia, Greece – Thursday 21st September 2023

Upon arrival in Katakolon, venture out to see the ancient site of Olympia, the storied place where the Olympic Games originated in 776 BC. The Temple of Zeus, the Temple of Hera and the famous stadium, along with a visit to the nearby Archaeological Museum, offers a fascinating introduction to the Games and ancient mythology. Relax over ouzo in an open-air café, or engage in a friendly round of bargaining as you shop for Greek jewelry and handicrafts.

Day 9 – Catania, Italy – Friday 22nd September 2023

Nestled snuggly at the foot of Mount Etna and this sea, this ancient port is a rich tapestry of landscapes and traditions. Indeed, here on the largest island in the Mediterranean – a cultural crossroads for centuries – you’ll find influences from Greek and Phoenician to French and Spanish, all reflected in rich cuisine and Baroque architecture. Be sure to explore its historic UNESCO-listed center, filled with towering palazzi and sweeping plazas.

Day 10 – Sorrento, Italy (overnight) – Saturday 23rd September 2023

Dramatic bluffs and craggy cliffs draped with flowing pink blossoms are the welcoming vision to this romantic port renowned for its serene way of life.

Day 11 – Sorrento, Italy – Sunday 24th September 2023

More time to explore the beauty of Sorrento.

Day 12 – Olbia (Sardinia), Italy – Monday 25th September 2023

Olbia sits on a large Sardinian bay, with a historic port dating to pre-Roman times and a newer ferry port connected to the city by causeway. Sardinia’s ruins are particularly interesting, remnants of the daily lives and rituals of the Nurarghic people of the Bronze Age. Glimpse more of an ancient past at an archeological museum displaying Roman and medieval ships, embellished glassware and other relics. Beyond town, sandy beaches, holm oak forests and secluded coves invite exploration.

Day 13 – Civitavecchia (Rome), Italy -Tuesday 26th September 2023

This is the final day of your Venice Simplon-Orient-Express & Crystal Cruise itinerary. Disembark the Crystal Symphony after an incredible 8 nights on board and a private car will be waiting to take you to Rome Fiumicino Airport. Flight is included from Rome Fiumicino to London Gatwick (regional airports also available). X
