Indian Ocean

The phrase “barefoot luxury” was made for the Maldives being the source for best selling novels and the 1st choice for many a honeymoon……..those island escapes await you. However, if you like to get out and about, Mauritius is the perfect choice. With the purest sandy beaches complete with reefs to snorkel, there’s also adventure just around the corner as you trek the famous Black River Gorges National Park or just wander the alleyways of the lively Port Louis market for the unique souvenir. The cuisine in Mauritius is as diverse as its culture combining Creole, French, Chinese and Indian….something for everyone’s palate. And finally for the almost “turn back time” feel to your holiday try the Seychelles with an almost prehistoric feel to the landscape and with an unparalleled biodiversity the archipelago of 155 islands, of which only a small percentage are inhabited. Positioned almost directly between Africa and India, years ago the tourist board used a slogan “a 1000 miles from anywhere” which nicely summed up the location. A population of just over 80,000, of which the majority live on the main island of Mahé, the location of the capital, Victoria, and the international airport. here are no direct flights to the Seychelles from the UK, so you travel via Dubai or Doha (Qatar) with change of flight meaning you can twin this stunning beach destination with some shopping in the Middle East.
