Then when ready, retire to the comfort of your private cabin.Day 2 – Venice Simplon-Orient-Express & Arrival in Venice – Friday 28th June 2024
You awake to the magnificent mountains and countryside of France, as breakfast is served to your cabin. Spend the morning relaxing over petit fours, or in the Bar Car striking conversation with fellow guests, before a leisurely three-course lunch is served in one of our opulent restaurant cars. Then while away the afternoon admiring the Venetian Lagoon with aperitifs in hand. All too soon it will be time to disembark as we arrive into Santa Lucia station. A Venice Simplon-Orient-Express water taxi will be waiting outside the station to take you to your hotel, Hotel Papadopoli Venezia – MGallery, where you will spend an evening at your own leisure.Day 3 – Venice, Italy – Saturday 29th June 2024
Awake in Venice and enjoy breakfast at your hotel. Venice is the heart and soul of romance. Cast your eye on the rounded domes of San Marco, take a deep breath at the Bridge of Sighs, gaze on the golden lions and the Renaissance glories of the Doge’s Palace, listen for the ghosts of Verdi, Puccini and Caruso at La Fenice Opera House, gape at the classic Palladian proportions of the Church of San Giorgio Maggiore, glide in a gondola down the Grand Canal. A private water taxi transfer will collect you from your hotel where you will be taken to Venice port to board the Star Clippers Royal Clipper ship.Day 4 – Zadar, Croatia – Sunday 30th June 2024
Zadar is where the ancient and modern come together and coexist quite happily to create one of Dalmatia’s most exciting towns. Zadar is a place to explore Roman ruins and Venetian architecture including it’s defensive walls which are now a World Heritage Site. Another great experience is the Sea Organ which captures the movement of the waves and transforms it into music, giving out an odd mournful sound that evokes the sea, wind and sky.Day 5 – Hvar, Croatia – Monday 1st July 2024
The heavenly scent of lavender perfumes the air in the fields and valleys around the island of Hvar. Idyllically located just off the Dalmatian Coast, the island and the little port named after it have been a favorite getaway ever since the time of the Romans, the Byzantines, the Venetians and even Austro-Hungarian royalty.
Day 6 – Dubrovnik, Croatia – Tuesday 2nd July 2024
It was George Bernard Shaw who said,’Those who seek paradise on earth should come to Dubrovnik.’ Indeed, Dubrovnik is a treasure by any measure made more precious by its miraculous restoration. Crowned by the Minceta Tower, the 10th century city walls are the proud symbol of Dubrovnik’s colourful history.Day 7 – Kotor, Montenegro – Wednesday 3rd July 2024
This stunning rock-walled chasm splitting the coastal mountains of Montenegro is the longest arm of the sea in southern Europe. Boka harbours one of the prettiest, unspoiled towns you’ll ever see, the medieval city of Kotor. Founded by the Romans, fortified during the Byzantine era, then ruled by Venice for much of its history, Kotor has been naturally preserved by its isolation.Day 8 – Vis, Croatia – Thursday 4th July 2024
Vis Island has been described as a pearl among Croatian Adriatic Islands that has been left untouched by tourism for many years. As it develops it is becoming more and more popular particularly with yachtsmen. The island is known for it’s many beautiful beaches as well as it’s fascinating history. The town of Vis was founded in about 397 B.C. as a base for the Greek colonization of the Adriatic Sea.Day 9 – Rovinj, Croatia – Friday 5th July 2024
Rovinj is a typical example of a Mediterranean town. The town is dominated by the Baroque three-nave church of St. Euphemia (Fuma). Close to the harbour are the clock tower, the Baroque Balbi’s Arch and the former 17th century Town Hall. To the east lies the complex of the Franciscan monastery and to the south, Rovinj’s oldest monument, the Romanesque heptagonal chapel of the Holy Trinity.Day 10 – Venice, Italy – Saturday 6th July 2024
This is the final day of your Venice Simplon-Orient-Express & Sailing Cruise itinerary. Disembark the Royal Clipper after an incredible 7 nights on board and a private car will be waiting to take you to Venice Marco Polo airport. Flight is included from Venice Marco Polo to London Heathrow (regional airports also available).Hotel Papadopoli Venezia – Mgallery
