Day One

• Begin your adventure in the heart of Paris. Step aboard the gleaming carriages of the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express and relax in your private cabin, champagne in hand. Winding our way south through France, make your way to one of the beautifully restored dining cars for a delicious lunch.
• As the afternoon continues, unwind as your steward arrives to serve a variety of pastries with tea and coffee in your cabin. Then it’s time to prepare for a vibrant evening on board, starting with a gastronomic dinner showcasing seasonal ingredients from along the train’s route. Afterwards, make your way to Bar Car ‘3674’ to enjoy live piano music, signature cocktails and sophisticated conviviality late into the night.

Day Two

• Wake to idyllic Italian vistas and savour a leisurely breakfast in your cabin. After a relaxing morning and lunch on board, disembark at Pompeii station. A luxury transfer is waiting to take you to the magnificent ruins of Pompeii, a UNESCO World Heritage Site where you enjoy a VIP guided tour. For our Grand Suites guests only, we offer exclusive access to a site normally closed to the public, the ancient “Casa del Larario Regio V”. Your visit highlights an important preservation project sponsored by Caruso hotel and provides a unique insight into cultural conservation efforts.
• Those who would prefer to go straight to the hotel without visiting Pompeii can choose to join a bespoke cooking class at Caruso led by Executive Chef Armando Aristarco.
• In the evening, all guests gather by Caruso’s iconic pool for an exclusive event hosted with some of Cilento’s finest artisan food producers. The convivial evening celebrates the concepts of healthy nutrition and food provenance, as well as hospitality, creativity and cultural exchange. Anticipate exceptional delicacies and wines, accompanied by vibrant music from local musicians, as you gaze out over the glittering coast.

Day Three

• Begin the morning with a sumptuous breakfast overlooking the azure Mediterranean Sea. Today, you have a choice of two experiences to immerse yourself in the Amalfi Coast.
• Option One: a scenic boat tour to Positano, winding around hidden coves, rugged caves and rocky inlets and gaining a magically different perspective of the Amalfi Coast. Drop anchor at mythical sites, plunge into the clear azure waters for an invigorating swim or simply unwind on deck and lose yourself in the breathtaking scenery. Advance reservation required.
• Option Two: a painting lesson at Caruso, learning how to capture the vistas from the hotel. Join a local painter in the Loggia, a unique corner of the hotel, to be guided through the techniques needed to create your own personal masterpiece on a small canvas. The views you depict, as seen through the arches of the Loggia, will stay in your memory forever as you take your work away with you.
• In the evening, make your way to the hotel gardens for a beautiful gala dinner, set among the fragrant blooms and panoramic views. The occasion is enhanced by a live music performance, ensuring a truly magical end to your stay.

Day Four

• Take a last look at the breathtaking views over breakfast, then bid farewell to the Amalfi Coast and depart at your leisure. Private transfers to Naples train station or airport can be arranged for your onward journey or return travel.

• Amalfi Town – Once a powerful maritime republic, Amalfi blends history with seaside charm. Visit the striking Cathedral of Sant’Andrea and explore the lively piazza lined with cafés and gelaterias
• Ravello – Perched high above the coast, Ravello is known for peaceful gardens, sweeping views, and elegant villas. Don’t miss Villa Cimbrone and its famous Terrace of Infinity
