Depart Istanbul’s Sirecki Station in the afternoon and begin a 6 day journey of a lifetime aboard the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express train.
Day One: Aboard the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express
- Board the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express train at Istanbul’s Sirecki Station in the afternoon. After being greeted by your steward, settle into your cabin and enjoy a delightful afternoon tea.
- As the train leaves the station you glimpse magnificent views of the Sea of Marmara.
- Dinner is a sumptuous affair, prepared on board by our skilled chefs and served in one of the beautifully restored dining cars.
- After dinner retire to your cabin, which has now been transformed into a cosy bedroom.
Day Two: Bulgaria & Romania
- Continental breakfast is served in your cabin as the train travels through Bulgaria and on into Romania.
- Soak up the scenery through the windows before enjoying a delicious lunch as you arrive into Bucharest.
- Dinner with musical entertainment this evening is in a private venue.
- Overnight in Bucharest at the Athenée Palace Hilton Hotel.
Day Three: Romania
- This morning rejoin the train and enjoy brunch as you journey to the mountain town of Sinaia.
- On arrival transfer to Peles Castle, the summer home of the former King Carol.
- Return to the station late afternoon and continue your journey towards Hungary.
- Dinner and overnight on board.
Day Four: Budapest, Hungary
- Arrive in Budapest this morning and enjoy a short orientation coach ride through the city followed by a panoramic cruise along the River Danube.
- Lunch is provided before transferring to the Hotel for an overnight stay.
- Overnight in Budapest and dinner at a nearby private venue.
Day Five: Cross River Danube and into Bulgaria
- The day starts with a guided tour of the Hungarian Parliament Building
- Transfer to the station late morning to rejoin the train.
- Lunch is served as the train crosses through the vineyards and forests of Hungary
- Your final dinner and night on board.
Day Six: Final Day aboard the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express
- Awake and enjoy breakfast on board as the train makes it way through Switzerland and into France.
- Early morning, alight to take a stroll around a celebrated champagne house.
- Rejoin the train and a fairwell lunch is served before arriving into Paris Gare de l’Est to disembark this legendary train.
