Paris to Portofino – Detailed Itinerary

Day One

• Private Car transfer to Paris station.
• Board the legendary Venice Simplon-Orient-Express in Paris with a celebratory champagne reception before settling into your elegant cabin of plush upholstery and masterful marquetry. As your steward serves pastries with tea or coffee, the train glides south through Dijon, Lyon and Avignon toward the French Riviera.
• Evening brings a gastronomic dinner inspired by regional ingredients and paired with fine wines or refined alternatives. Afterwards, enjoy live piano music, signature cocktails and lively conversation in Bar Car ‘3674’. When ready, retire to your cabin, where the rhythmic lull of the train carries you gently into the night.

Day Two

• Wake to serene views of Southern France as your steward serves breakfast in your cabin. Journey along the sparkling coast past Cannes and Nice before crossing into Italy, where seaside villages and historic Genoa unfold before you.
• Enjoy a three-course lunch on board before arriving in Santa Margherita Ligure and transferring to the iconic Splendido in Portofino. Settle into your room with sweeping Gulf of Tigullio views, relax by the saltwater pool or Dior Spa and visit our sister hotel, Splendido Mare.
• Dine at Splendido Grill or DaV Mare, then toast the night with cocktails in timeless Italian style.

Day Three

• A day of pleasure and relaxation awaits. Begin with breakfast overlooking the bay at La Terrazza, then explore at leisure – from a private tennis session or guided hike to the Portofino lighthouse to a pizza masterclass with Splendido Grill’s chef.
• As evening falls, enjoy an aperitif at Bar Baratta Sedici, followed by a gala dinner prepared by Chef Corrado Corti at La Terrazza, Splendido’s coveted restaurant which has been newly renovated by Martin Brudnizki. During the dinner, enjoy live music and sweeping views of the Gulf of Tigullio.

Day Four

• As your final day arrives, wake up to a delicious breakfast at La Terrazza. Linger over the freshest local produce as you look over the wisteria-covered balcony at the yachts in the bay. There’s time for a last wander around the glorious grounds before checking out and continuing with your onward travels.

• Portofino Marina – Known as one of the most famous ports in the world, feel like a VIP as you watch the yachts anchored at the berths
