Exceptional European cuisine is freshly prepared in the train’s kitchen by the Chef and his skilled team. Fresh ingredients are taken on board at stops along the route. Look out the window and you may spot the chef inspecting lobsters from Brittany, tomatoes from Provence or saltmarsh lamb from Mont St Michel. The set-menus are an inclusive part of your trip. There are three restaurant carriages on the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express all with their own unique feel and décor.
Dining Car 4095 L’Oriental
Built by the Birmingham Railway Carriage and Wagon Company in 1927 was comissioned as a Pullman Kitchen Car. It has an Oriental theme with Chinese style laquer wall panels.Dining Car 4110 Etoile du Nord
Built by the Birmingham Railway Carriage and Wagon Company in 1926 to serve on the Etoile du Nord Pullman Train.Dining Car 4141 Côte d’Azur
Built in 1929, this was originally a 1st Class Pullman Car used on the Cote d’Azur Pullman Express. The carriage features ornate glass panels by René Lalique.Bar Car

Bar Car
The Bar Car was built in France in 1931 and based at the Gare Saint-Lazare in Paris. After the war it ran as part of the Sud Express from Paris to Irún on the Spanish border and from Paris to Toulouse in Le Capitole.
Today it boasts a beautiful, Art Nouveau-style interior by Gérard Gallet.

Today, every carriage has been lovingly restored to its former glory, recreating one of the finest luxury experiences the world has ever known. Day Two aboard the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express

- While away the afternoon admiring the passing scenery as the train travels through the Italian Dolomites.
- Later, afternoon tea is served in your cabin.
- All too soon it is time to prepare to disembark as the train crosses the Venetian Lagoon and pulls into Santa Lucia station.
